Kelowna’s Festival of Beer, whisky, spirits & more.
In 1996, at the very first ‘Hopscotch’, a few tables were set up to showcase whisky and beer to a small audience of about 200-people. In 2009, it traveled across the Coquihalla to begin its journey in Kelowna. Today, Hopscotch is the largest alcoholic showcase within the Okanagan, with over 6000 people attending each year. Hopscotch transforms what is normally the Kelowna Curling Rink into a spectacular Grand Tasting Hall filled with over 150 varieties of Craft and Premium Beers, Spirits from around the globe, the most delicious of Scotch and other Whiskies, as well as wines and different foods. Throughout the night, guests make their way around the tasting hall, enjoying old favourites and learning about new ones.
It is a great idea to arrive hungry as Hopscotch Kelowna always has many delicious food options. Snacks, as well as full-sized dinners are available.Rounding off the event is a coat-check, an on-site liquor store and a smoking area as well!

Friday Evening
6:00PM – 10:00PM
Saturday Afternoon
1:00PM – 4:00PM
Saturday Evening
6:00PM – 10:00PM
Pre-sale tickets for the 2023 Hopscotch Festival in Kelowna start at the special price of $25 for the daytime event and $30 for the Friday and Saturday event. As ticket quantities begin to decrease and more tickets are purchased, ticket prices will increase, reaching their “regular” price of $50.
Tokens are $1 each, plus tax. They are available for purchase using cash, debit or credit card, albeit there is a small convenience fee when paying by card. They are available exclusively within the Grand Tasting Hall. They are sold increments of 5 (Card) and 20 (Cash).
Samples range in price depending on their retail value. A sample of an 18 year old whisky could be several tokens while the same brand as a 12 year old may only be a couple. The connoisseur booklet that guests receive when they arrive will list all the products available and their sample token cost.
We do not have a different ticket available for DDs. We encourage designated drivers through and through and there are lots of activities and products to taste at the event that do not contain alcohol. Our event is “a-la-carte” style, so the ticket everyone purchases is a “DD” price, and then alcoholic drinks are purchased afterwards, once inside the event.

Grand Tasting Hall tickets include admission, souvenir tasting glass and access to hundreds of product samples.
Hopscotch tickets are not refundable. Tickets are transferable and thus can be given away to friends or sold on 3rd party sites. We do not hold any responsibility for tickets bought or sold or given away or received privately as there is no way to trace them to the new buyer.
Generally no, unless they are released in a pre-sale. If there is a ticket limit, it is usually 8 per event.
We do offer tickets for volunteers to the event. If someone wants to work at the Friday Night Grand Tasting Hall, they can attend for free on the Saturday night. If someone wants to work at the Saturday Night Grand Tasting Hall, they can volunteer on the Friday night. The latter will require a deposit on the Friday ticket which will be returned to the volunteer once their shift on Saturday is finished.
Safety is our primary priority and Hopscotch is committed to hosting a safe event. To help ensure we can move forward, Hopscotch will follow all local, provincial and federal mandatory requirements with respect to Covid restrictions. Hopscotch will not implement any additional restrictions. At the time of this being written, masks nor vaccine passports are not required and thus Hopscotch would not require them.
